Hymn: "On Jordan's Stormy Banks" ELW 437

 "On Jordan's Stormy Banks" speaks of the new heavens and new earth--the new and future Canaan; the heavenly hope that we shall know as Eden. The hymn pictures for us a people of God "bound for the promised land" while standing "on Jordan's stormy banks". If you have gone through trials and tribulations of great difficulty, stormy banks you could say, then this hymn is for you and for us who stand in the midst of it.

Prelude: "Good Job" A Tribute to Covid-19 Heroes

Written by Alicia Keys, Performed by One Voice Children’s Choir.

While this is not a sacred music song, it still sends a message that I think we can all use right now. We say “Good Job” and thank you to essential workers, teachers, parents, and grandparents during this world-wide pandemic. We’re thankful for these unsung heroes and all who are doing their best in these unprecedented times. We invite anyone who is struggling to hear us.  You are not alone, you matter, and you are doing a Good Job.

Postlude: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" ELW #733

 "Great is Thy faithfulness, " O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
"Great is Thy faithfulness, " Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
"Great is Thy faithfulness, " Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
"Great is Thy faithfulness, " Lord, unto me!
